GEP ECOTECH recently delivered a customized GD13 double-shaft shredder to a renowned chemical manufacturer for the pretreatment of raw materials in their copper oxide (CuO) production line. The machine is engineered to shred 1m × 1m copper plates into 100mm × 300mm pieces, preparing the material for the downstream thermal oxidation process.

Copper oxide (CuO) is a stable, high-purity inorganic compound extensively used in electronics, batteries, electroplating, catalysts, ceramics, and gas sensors. As a crucial component in advanced semiconductors and new energy materials, CuO production requires precise control at every stage—especially in raw material pretreatment. Typically derived from high-purity copper through thermal oxidation, the process demands uniform feedstock and minimal contamination.

The GD13 dual-shaft shredder, designed and manufactured by GEP ECOTECH, is engineered for shredding tough scrap metals such as copper plates (thickness up to 30mm), aluminum profiles and other metals. It delivers a consistent output of 6–8TPH, with output size of around 100*300mm, suitable for futher metal treatment. With low-speed and high-torque design, CrNiMo high-alloy steel movable cutters, anti-winding fixed cutters and intelligent PLC control, the shredder offers reliable, energy-efficient, and durable performance for a wide range of heavy-duty metal recycling applications.
