In projects such as biomass power generation, organic fertilizer, feed, chemical industry, and agricultural and forestry waste treatment, the shredding section directly affects the subsequent conveying, storage, fermentation, combustion, or molding effects. Facing materials of different forms such as bulk materials, large bales, and small bales, users hope for high equipment versatility and also require controllable output particle size and convenient maintenance. The GXB Series hammer mill launched by GEP ECOTECH is a fine shredding machine designed around these actual needs.

Working Principle and Output Control
The GXB Series is motor-driven, which drives the rotor to rotate at high speed through a V-belt or coupling. The cutter assembly on the rotor obtains relatively large kinetic energy during high-speed operation. After materials enter the shredding chamber, they are gradually shredded, and materials with a particle size smaller than the screen aperture are discharged in time, while materials larger than the screen aperture continue to be shredded in the chamber until the target particle size is reached. Taking a 50 mm screen aperture as an example, the proportion of material ≤50 mm in the output can reach about 95%, which is suitable for production lines with clear requirements for output particle size. Motor power, main shaft speed, and transmission mode can be matched according to the project configuration. The rotor linear speed of the GXB Series can reach 82 m/s, which can balance shredding efficiency and output uniformity.

Structural Features
The GXB Series has made targeted designs in the cutter assembly, rotor, bearings, screen, and maintenance method.
The cutter assembly adopts an integrated structure, integrating three cutters into one body, and optimizes the cutter profile to move the center of gravity forward, resulting in greater shredding force. Compared with a single cutter, the integrated cutter assembly has more advantages in mass distribution, and can increase shredding kinetic energy. When facing difficult-to-shred impurities such as wood blocks, wood boards, stones, and thin iron sheets, it has better adaptability and can reduce downtime for maintenance.
The rotor rotation diameter is relatively large, which helps increase the rotor linear speed and rotational inertia, making shredding efficiency higher. At the same time, under the premise of maintaining the linear speed, the main shaft speed can be reduced, thereby reducing bearing heat generation and extending bearing life. The bearings are imported high-speed double-row spherical roller bearings, which have large load capacity and low heat generation during high-speed rotation; combined with a thin oil lubrication device, they can provide real-time lubrication and reduce bearing temperature, further improving bearing life.
The screen occupies about 2/3 of the rotor circumference, with a large number of screen apertures and a higher material passage rate through the screen. The screen frame adopts a special structure and can adjust the clearance between the screen and the cutters. After cutter wear, maintaining the clearance value by adjusting the screen helps stabilize the output particle size. The transmission mode can be belt drive or direct coupling connection, which can effectively isolate the influence of main machine vibration on the motor and protect the motor. The full-open door design facilitates screen replacement and rotor maintenance, reducing maintenance time.

Applications and Production Line Configurations
The GXB Series can be widely used in many industries such as agricultural and forestry waste treatment, straw shredding, feed production, and chemical industry. It can be used as the second shredding process in a production line and matched with a double-shaft shredder: the double-shaft shredder performs pre-shredding first, processing the material to a smaller size around 100–300mm, and then the material enters the GXB Series for fine shredding to obtain more uniform fine material; it can also be used alone as one shredding process to directly process bulk materials and small bale materials, reducing the number of equipment in the production line, and is suitable for projects with simpler process requirements.
Model Selection
The GXB Series Hammer Mill is designed around versatility, output control, and maintenance convenience in the biomass fine shredding stage. It currently has three models: GXB10, GXB15, and GXB20, with processing capacities covering 4–16 t/h (taking straw-like materials as an example). Users can select models according to material type, moisture content, target output particle size, and project capacity. For projects that need to further finely shred bulk materials, small bale materials, or materials pre-shredded by a double-shaft shredder, the GXB Series can serve as a stable link. GEP ECOTECH can provide model selection and production line configuration suggestions according to specific material and capacity requirements, and welcome to contact us for further communication.
